Exploring Colour

A selling exhibition or original paintings by local artist Jennie Gaywood

As a primary school teacher, Jennie loved the opportunity to develop children’s creativeness and promised to devote her time to painting when she retired. This brilliant exhibition of her work in acrylics, pastels, water colour and mixed media reflect how her passion has developed.

Take a stroll to Sevens and see for yourself. On Treacle Market Sunday head upstairs to meet her and talk about art!

A selling exhibition works by two local artists

Exhibition 35 poster

It’s always a great pleasure putting on  a new exhibition, discovering how things go together and having the opportunity to meet the artists.

Babs Lloyd has an eye that catches the attention in her photographs and illustrates the richness to be found in our world, however everyday the subject might originally appear.

Ryan Connolly is a potter who’s work seems to come from a simple, earthy feeling for the materials he uses. His enthusiasm and committment to his trade comes out in in every piece.

Take a few minutes to come Upstairs at Sevens and enjoy a quiet moment away from the rush of daily routine to see what  these two talented artists have created.

If you wish to meet Ryan and talk to him about his “Proper Pots” he’ll be around, Upstairs at Sevens, during the Treacle Market on Sunday 25th of August

 Pure Art & Soul

a selling exhibition of framed originals by Jenny Enticknap

Pure Art & Soul Poster

“Visual art with a different perspective….

inspiration comes from the soul, from music, from dreams, from the natural world, from hope for a better world and from issues I care about.

I paint to the music that inspires me i.e. Midge Ure & Ultravox so there will always be that little extra in my artwork…. the soul, the ambience that has flowed into each painting from the music”

Sometimes it’s simpler to leave it to the artist to talk about their work and influences. Intrigued? Come and find out more about Jenny.

Some of you have requested this popular exhibition to be brought back, so here it is!

For two weeks you can admire and buy a selection of prints.  Many of them are of local scenes by artists such as R. A. Riseley and Bollington resident R.H.Fawkes who capture so well the Cheshire countryside. Others are of Manchester and the surrounding towns by the likes of L.S. Lowry. Christine Sheehan will also be showing some of her fine views of Macclesfield and the surrounding hills.

And as always there will be a few surprise originals, water colours and oils from more exotic places

Natural Images

A selling exhibition of pictures by local photographer Philip Jon

We’re pleased to be holding the first selling exhibition by Philip Jon, a local Wildlife photographer. He is self taught and loves the solitude while waiting to capture that one good image, no matter how long it takes. He does not use a computer programme to enhance any of the images as he prefers them to be as natural as possible.

All the work on show has been taken in Macclesfield and the surrounding area. One of his favourite places to visit is Marton Fisheries near Gawsworth as it is a wonderful location to see and photograph so many different varieties of birds, some of which are in his exhibition, along with a few autumn landscape images of the pools.

Don’t forget the Treacle Market on sunday 26th of august  which is the last day of the exhibition.
